※ clothes の thes の部分の子音連続 (eは読まない) は、/z/で代用すれば良いことはすでに説明した。つまり
/klóʊ(ð)z/
であるが、リスニングで確認して欲しい。なお、cloth の発音は
/klˈɔːθ/
であり、/oʊ/ ではないので注意をする。また布巾とか雑巾の意味で可算名詞として用いられるときの複数形は cloths /klˈɔːðz/ であり、あたりまえだが、やはり /oʊ/ ではない。
